Registration as a Pharmacy Student
A student enrolled in a pharmacy degree program may complete practice experience (structured or unstructured) in PEI if he/she is registered as a pharmacy student. A pharmacy student may not circumvent the registration process by working as an unregistered pharmacy assistant.
The student registration year begins on September 15th. Student registration must be renewed annually if the student is completing practice experience or working in PEI.
The requirements for Pharmacy Student Registration are set out in the Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician Regulations. A registration checklist is available to assist applicants.
Unless otherwise specified, all documentation must be received by the PEI College of Pharmacy in its original form or as a notarized copy. Original documents may be presented to the PEI College of Pharmacy office to be copied by staff.
Student applicants may complete the application form online.
Proof of Identity
Applicants must provide proof of identity with either a valid passport OR a birth certificate or Canadian citizenship certificate and a piece of photo identification.
Enrollment in a Pharmacy Degree Program
Applicants must provide proof of enrollment in a pharmacy degree program in the form of a letter from the educational institution where the applicant is enrolled OR current transcripts.
Letters of Standing
Applicants are required to submit a letter of standing from any and all regulatory bodies where they have held a registration. Please contact each regulatory body to request that the PEI College of Pharmacy to request that the PEICP letter of standing form be completed and forwarded directly to the PEI College of Pharmacy office.
