The College has a duty, as per the Regulated Health Professions Act, to maintain standards respecting the continuing education and competency of its members.
The purpose of the College's quality assurance program is to improve patient care by ensuring that community pharmacies and pharmacists adhere to College standards.
The continuing competence program details the continuing education requirements for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the General register.
The assessment program supports pharmacists and pharmacy managers by giving them the opportunity to spend time with the College's practice advisor. The practice advisor will assist pharmacists in assessing their professional practice and modifying activities if necessary to meet the College standards and provide optimal patient care.
The process is intended to be supportive, educational and transparent.
